- Think of a painting on a wall (as a traditional format)

- Now remove the painting

- Make a support for the space it once occupied

# Supports could be

- An apparatus to hold what was once present…

- A shift to illuminate the space it once occupied…

- The pictorial investment of transitional objects…

- Stations where the painting returns momentarily…

- The show is not interested in the residual or the memory of painting.

- The new support should take the place of painting with its fleshy-chromatic-plastic-structural-goodness-intact.

 - The mechanisms involved in what it means to physically present a painting.

- Not so much a painting, then, presenting itself, as the representation, the enacting of painting.

- THE SHOW AIMS TO TEST THE CAPACITY OF CERTAIN THINGS TO REPRESENT PAINTING, OR MORE ACCURATELY, THE CAPACITY OF SUCH REPRESENTATION TO BE CONVEYED BY THIS OBJECT OR THAT DEVICE.

- WHATS ENOUGH OR TOO MUCH FOR IT TO APPEAR, WHEN HUNG ON THE WALL, AS A CREDIBLE SUPPORT FOR A PAINTING?
